Since 2009, the Youth Music Venture (YMV) has been a youth music initiative run by amazing volunteers, for the local community.
The Youth Music Venture first started in Palm Beach and now works right across the Gold Coast, putting young people (11-17 y/o's) into bands, readying them for all things music, before they perform on stage at the finale concert for each program.

Much excitement at the Volunteering Gold Coast’s Annual Awards, a sold out gala event at The Star on 2nd December, when Youth Music Venture took out the two top awards:
Community Organisation of The Year and also Gold Coast Volunteer of The Year!

HOW IT WORKS
WHO WE ARE
WHAT WE'VE ACHEIVED
We establish between 4 - 6 bands, based on their performance and interests from the video auditions. Then for 8 weeks the bands rehearse for 1½ hours per week at the relevant rehearsal venue with professional musical mentors. We finish each program off with a bang, as all the bands perform onstage like rock stars.
