Meet our foundation 💛A proud reflective moment for Youth Music Venture! Running any business is hard, but running a voluntary organisation is way tougher! Stable, reliable, loyal and trustworthy management is an ideal, but often not achievable, goal for any business! Youth Music Venture [YMV], is proud to say we have achieved that, with 5 Senior Committee Members having all been together now for 17 or 18 years, very rarely seen in any form of business, but more particularly so in a voluntary organisation! DEAN FULLER When he was first told about YMV, Dean jumped on immediately as a sponsor when he was Manager for Billy Hyde music in Southport. And as he said, with music having given him so much over the years he wanted to give back and has been Senior Mentor ever since. BOB ANTHONYBob was the Editor of all the Gold Coast Sun Newspapers as well as the Tweed Daily News when he heard about a music program idea for kids put forward by Ian, loved the concept and provided the whole front page, with Senior Constable Kurt Foessel also included in the photo, at what was then the local music shop! Until the local papers were disbanded by News Corp, Bob provided many front pages and numerous other articles, giving YMV a huge amount of support to help with its success! Then, many years later Bob was instrumental in introducing Ian to the GM of Tweed Seagulls Club where YMV has been now for the past five years, where Bob is also a Board Member! 🎶🙌 ... Youth Music Venture [YMV], is proud to say we have achieved that, with 5 Senior Committee Members having all been together now for 17 or 18 years, very rarely seen in any form of business, but more particularly so in a voluntary organisation!SENIOR CONSTABLE KURT FOESSEL After the first Committee meeting with Police included in 2009, Kurt was “Voluntold” by then Senior Sergeant [now Inspector] Chris Ahearn to be the representative Committee Member, where he has remained ever since! Kurt played a major part in the launch of YMV when he introduced Ian to a friend who was a National Manager for Roland - Ian put forward his idea and next thing $7000 worth of amplifiers and keyboard arrived from Sydney, providing a great kickoff. Then when Ian and Bob Anthony joined the Study Gold Coast [SGC] delegation in Tokyo in 2019, Kurt had the great idea of looking at a youth band exchange program and SGC set up a special dinner with the Tokyo schools, specifically to promote that concept! Unfortunately, then along came COVID! We have been so fortunate to have somebody so community minded and focused on kids as Kurt, because apart from being one of the most decorated Police Officers on the Gold Coast he has won countless Community Awards, with the most recent being the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, one of the highest awards presented by Lions Club international. ...
